Flanges and their Applications

A flange is a method of connecting pipes, valves, pumps where the piping joint might need dismantling. Providing the ease of dismantling, it also enables comfort of cleaning, inspection or modification. Flanges are usually welded or screwed by bolting together two flanges with a gasket between them to provide a seal.

Attention to details is important while selecting and putting all these elements together to attain a leak-proof joint.

Every industry you can think of, be it clothing, medical, automobiles, plumbing, farming, all and any uses machines, pipes in their manufacturing units. These metal pipes need to be held together which can be done by connecting them by soldering or welding them together, but pipes connected in this way are very susceptible to bursting at high pressures which is a common state of work in many industries. To avoid this, a better and safer way of connecting is by having flanged ends that can be connected with bolts using good quality gaskets. Blind flange is put at the end of pipe or at the junction that would possibly be a future expansion into that direction.
